Robert Xie Found Guilty Of Murdering Five Members Of His Own Family

This was the fourth time Xie had faced trial.

Robert Xie has been found guilty of murdering five members of his extended family, including two young boys, at a Sydney home in 2009.

Xie's victims were his brother-in-law Min Lin, 45, Min's wife Yun Li, 43, and their two sons, Henry, 12, Terry, 9. Yun Li's sister Yun Bin was also murdered.

The five victims were found after being brutally beaten to death inside the Lins' North Epping home in north Sydney on July 18, 2009.

This was the fourth time Xie had faced trial after two earlier trials were aborted, and another ended in a hung jury.

The Supreme Court jury reached a majority decision after earlier telling the judge they could not reach a unanimous verdict.

After the decision was handed down, Xie told the jury he was innocent and did not murder the Lin family, the ABC reports.

    More to come.
