Narcissism Or Self- Love? MY #OOTD Instagram Experiment

I uploaded daily picture of myself for a week to Instagram and the end result was surprising.

Let me start this by saying that I always saw excessive Instagram posting as incredibly obnoxious.

For a week I put my reservations aside and posted daily pictures of my outfits. My only rule was that I needed to post my picture first thing in the morning.

On the first day I felt INCREDIBLY self-conscious. This was a random AF experiment, and I was just hoping my followers wouldn't be silently judging me.

As the week went on, though, something unexpected happened.

I am not a morning person. But doing this experiment actually made me excited to get up in the morning.

Not only was I enjoying getting up, but I was also feeling more confident.

I wanted to feel beautiful, and empowered and ready to take on the world.

Scientists call the process by which clothing effects our cognitive process “enclothed cognition”

While my experiment is over and I most definitely spent my Memorial Day Monday in my jammies it's nice to know that the way I dress has an effect on my mental attitude.

And while I may not be posting daily #OOTD I have gained more respect for people who do post random selfies and outfit posts.
