Redback Spider Sexual Suicide
After a male mates with a female redback spider, the male will do a handstand on her belly and somersault into her mouth. This sacrifice will give the female energy to birth and care for their offspring. If he did not sacrifice himself, he would have most likely never found another mate and his offspring would have had a lower chance of survival.
