Steve Harvey Will Be Hosting The Miss Universe Pageant Once Again

Let's hope he doesn't mess up this time.

Steve Harvey has been chosen to host the Miss Universe pageant once again.

As we all recall, the American TV host created global shock as he mistakenly announced Miss Columbia Ariadna Guttierez as Miss Universe 2015 when in fact it was Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach.

Named as one of the biggest fiascos in pageant history, almost-queen Miss Colombia had to maintain her posture as the crown was being transferred to Miss Philippines. To make things more awkward, then reigning Miss Universe Pauline Vega from Colombia was Ariadna’s cousin.

While the commotion has already faded, fans are still constantly reminding Harvey of getting it right this time.

Former Miss Colombia Ariadna went face to face with Harvey on his show last year and although it was one emotional episode, it was still filled with laughs. Harvey said he is “beyond sorry for what happened.”

Reigning Miss Universe Pia Wurtzbach on the other hand has already stated that he has forgiven Harvey for his mistake. According to her, “the moment he apologized onstage, that’s OK.”

The 65th Miss Universe Coronation will be broadcasted live on Sunday, January 29 at 7pm ET/PT on the FOX network. Guest performances include Grammy winner group Boyz II Men and best-selling rapper Flo Rida.
