10 Pets Living Their Best Lives While Their Humans Are Not Around

Whether you use them to help protect your home or to check in with your fur babies while you’re away, Ring cameras** help keep your loved ones safe — both animal and human. But they can also capture hilarious (and helpful) moments like they did for these grateful pet parents.

1. No amount of barking will wake this dog from his nap:

Monkey, a French bulldog, and Bubba, a Catahoula leopard dog, are somewhat of an odd couple, especially when left to their own devices. “Monkey absolutely rules the house,” says their human Anthony. “Bubba lets [him] do whatever he wants.” But that doesn’t mean Bubba would let any of his monkey business get in the way of his nap. As a firefighter who’s often away, Anthony got a Ring Stick Up Cam to keep an eye on the dogs. “It’s nice knowing we can check in even when [we’re] gone,” he adds.

2. Mystery of the missing pizza solved!

An ordinary pizza delivery turned into a hilarious scene when the neighbor’s dog Jethro stepped in and helped himself — to more than one slice. “I couldn't go to the door when it arrived,” explains Kenisha, who ordered the pizzas while working from home. “When I finished my call, I walked to the front door to check for the pizza and there was only one box there. We were expecting four. This was definitely a first so I decided to investigate.” She checked the video recordings from her Ring Video Doorbell* and saw the four-legged pizza thief in action. “That's how I knew who it was. I was really dying laughing. I just couldn't believe it,” she adds.

3. Sneaky treat thief busted in the kitchen:

Jessica had a problem. Her cat’s treats kept disappearing. Although she had a suspicion of who the culprit was, she was determined to find out for sure. “Severus Snape, aka Sev, had been stealing treats for a while. I kept finding the empty packets on the floor so I had to catch him in the act,” says Jessica. “So I ordered a Ring camera. I only had to wait a couple weeks before the thief returned.” Thanks to her Ring Indoor Cam*, Jessica had concrete evidence (in the form of a hysterical video) of Sev’s transgression. “When I watched the camera back, I was laughing so much,” she adds. “He is naughty but very clever indeed.”

4. Pet parents tell mama dog via their Ring Cam to feed her puppies. Does she listen?

When Eva’s owners were away for the day, they left their Ring Cam in front of her puppies to make sure everything would be OK. They were 50 miles from home when they realized that the puppies were getting hungry. They used Two-Way Talk on the Ring Cam to get Eva’s attention and ask her to feed the pups. Amazingly, it worked! “She came and saved our day from having to drive all the way home and cancel our plans. She also saved her puppies’ day by feeding them,” says pet mom Tree.

5. If you had a mini goldendoodle puppy, you couldn’t resist this either:

Puppy Bella was surprised when she heard her owner Scott call her name but couldn’t see him anywhere in the room. That’s because he used Two-Way Talk on his Ring Indoor Cam to check in on the 6-month-old mini goldendoodle while he was away. But the clever pup quickly figured out where Scott’s voice was coming from and couldn’t contain that joy. “I thought it was pretty cute how she was looking for me and then found the camera I was speaking to her from,” says Scott.

6. Owner cracks up when her cat does this:

Madison’s dad got her a Ring Stick Up Cam for Christmas so she could keep tabs on her 10-month-old kitten Miso. When she’s out of the house, Madison loves to use Live View and Two-Way Talk to check in on him and it’s easy to see why. The first time she said his name, Miso’s response was hilarious. “Right away, he was startled and started searching for the source of the call, coming closer and closer to the Ring camera,” Madison says. “It was also his first time being called remotely and I was losing it from how cute and confused he was!”

7. When Mercy (the dog) is busted chewing on a picture frame, her (cat) accomplices cover up for her:

Carly set up a Ring Indoor Cam, in part, to keep an eye on Mercy, her 1-year-old shepherd puppy. “[She’s] going through a terror phase,” says Carly. “She’s eaten every single ornament she can reach on the tree and has proceeded to go after picture frames!” The plan worked perfectly until her two cats got involved, thwarting Carly’s puppy parenting efforts. Carly showed the Ring video* evidence of Mercy and the kitties’ shenanigans to her husband. “It’s hard to stay mad at them when we saw their reactions to my voice,” she says.

8. Golden retriever pup busted being...a “good boy”:

Imagine you’re a dog, sitting around and doing your favorite thing: watching TV. Then, out of nowhere, you hear your human’s voice. What do you do? Well, if you’re anything like this 1-year-old golden retriever Arnold, you tilt your head and try to figure out where that sound is coming from. “I was checking what he was up to because he...was suspiciously too quiet,” says his pet mom Anika. She was in her home office and could see what he was up to in the living room through her Ring Indoor Cam. She was impressed by how well behaved he was. “I'm so proud of him because he was being a good boy and not destroying anything,” she adds.

9. This is why you should never leave your nuggets unattended:

Bailey, 9 years old, learned just how fast his fast food can disappear when Gunner, the family’s boxer, is around. Bailey’s dad Darrell was away when the incident happened so he checked their Ring Stick Up Cam footage* to get the full story. “When we saw the act, we were sad for Bailey but surprised by Gunner, by how quickly he helped himself,” Darrell recalls. “Ring gives me a sense of security inside and outside the house, as well as being able to see what our dog is up to when we’re not home.”

10. That moment when mom is gone and you think you can bark all you want, then this happens:

Bernedoodle Lula was outside while pet mom Moira was away so Lula thought she finally had the freedom to express herself and bark her heart out. Little did she know, Moira had a Ring Stick Up Cam and could see when Lula was causing a ruckus. “We bought the Ring cameras when she was a baby to watch her while she was home alone,” says Moira. “She couldn’t understand where my voice was coming from. She totally stopped barking after she heard me.”
