Mumbai has been hit with its worst deluge since 2005, leaving half the city submerged in more than 126 mm of rain. The regional meteorological centre has declared another 48 hours of heavy rain, and advised that residents of the city stock up on supplies and stay indoors for the next two days. Some trains and flights have been halted.
According to reports, three people have died – two in a landslide, and one in a building collapse. Flights were delayed, local train tracks have flooded, and schools and colleges are shut for the day.
