Why Ross Geller Isn't That Bad...

Ross Geller is a well rounded character with a genuine love for the people in his life. Sure, there are some episodes where he is not the brightest, nor funniest, character, but singling out bad episodes shouldn't be enough to prove a point. You would have to prove that his character, as a whole, is bad. If Ross Geller isn't the absolute worst character, then who is, you might ask?

From the very first scene she was introduced in, Emily was frigid and rude to Rachel because Rachel had forgotten about her in the rain. While this is absolutely cause for someone to be upset, no respectable person would be as offensive to a girl they have never even met before. Not to mention, Rachel was simply a coworker of Emily's father at the time.

After getting to know Emily we definitely find out more about her character, which isn't necessarily good. She is disrespectful, untrustworthy, and most of all manipulative.

Once Emily and Ross start getting serious, Emily has to move back to London. Ross then tells her he loves her before she leaves, to which she replies "Thank you." We later find out that Emily was too scared to tell Ross she loved him because there was another man she was seeing. Ross finally won her over and decided to forget about this other guy and just love Emily for Emily and not her past. What happens later in their relationship though? Emily becomes so paranoid about Rachel and Ross (After Ross said Rachel's name at the wedding, terrible thing to do, I know) that she refuses to get in contact with him after their wedding. After Ross finally gets through to Emily and convinces her to stay with him, (After she basically tried making him choose between his own child and her before he convinced her to move to New York) Emily then forces him to give up his furniture, apartment, and even his best friend in order for them to stay together. She manipulated him into loving her just so she could get her way. If that does not make her the worst character, then I don't know what will.
