How To Survive A Group Project
At one point or another, we have all likely been required to work alongside our peers to compile information about a specific topic then present those findings to the class. Meeting the personal standards you’ve set for yourself is one thing, but having your grade depend upon the performance of your classmates can feel like a matter of life or death.
Group projects hang over the heads of overzealous students who accept the majority of the assignment and ease the minds of those who think they can get away with contributing the bare minimum. Successfully completing
a group project is easy with these helpful tips.
Exchange Phone Numbers
Save the cheesy pick up lines, boys. Group projects give you a legitimate reason to ask for a girls number. Getting everyone in your groups' number is the first thing every group should do before diving into any project. Don’t light up your group members phone or you can expect to be blocked once the project is over.
Use Social Media
Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram are awesome, but not for direct messaging your group members. GroupMe is a free messaging app that allows you to add existing phone contacts to a group message. And for all you iPhone users, with GroupMe your messages won’t be green.
Get Out of the Classroom
Get outdoors, meet up at a coffee shop, or exchange ideas over lunch. Allow your group to think outside the confinement of a school classroom or rigid office space.
Knock Their Socks Off!
Take a deep breath and have some confidence because the presentation
is the easiest part of any group project. Remember, a successful group project will stimulate and challenge the class as a whole. Also, food is always welcome.
