The video was all filmed in the colonial city of Salvador, on Brazil’s tropical Northeast coast. Not to be confused with El Salvador, the the Central American country. You’d be forgiven if you guessed at Rio, Anitta’s home city, also a popular choice with artists, including Snoop, who filmed Beautiful there, with Pharrell Williams.

A feature length version of his diaspora-resistance anthem They Don’t Care About Us was timingly re-released last month. Michael made good use of local band Oldum, who happen to have a sister band called Didá, who continue the legacy, supporting Anitta and Cardi.
