1. Cement Magnets Tutorial

Aileen from At Home in Love made us these nifty little concrete magnets. Here's how.

Materials: a silicone ice cube tray, magnets, concrete mix, a bucket or container to mix the concrete in, a stick for stirring, and a cup to scoop the concrete with.

1. Mix the concrete according to the directions on the package. Start by putting a couple inches of water in the bottom of my bucket, then pour in the concrete mix until it reached the consistency of pancake batter (or a little thicker).

2. Scoop the concrete out and fill each compartment of the silicone mold about half full (or however thick you want your finished magnets to be). If they're not quite even, you can adjust the levels with a spoon.

3. Pick up the mold and set it down again a couple times to make sure the concrete has reached every corner.

4. When the concrete has just started to set but is still pliable, push in the magnets, leaving just the very top of them poking out.

5. Wait for the concrete to fully set, following the directions on the package. Or if you're impatient, wait at least 8 hours.

6. Pop the hardened magnets out of the silicone mold. They should come out really easily.

7. You can sand the bottom edges to smooth them out a little if you'd like.

And that's it! Stick them on your fridge and admire your handiwork.

2. Painted Brooches

Pour concrete into a small cardboard mold and let it dry around an egg to create little holders. Paint them neon if you like! Here are the details.

This tutorial shows you how to press concrete between two containers to create a candle holder with a lacy imprint.

10. Concrete Monogram Letters

Make a letter mold out of cardboard- just be sure to wrap with lots of tape to avoid leaking. You could also make little shapes. This post shows you how.

15. DIY Concete Clock

You'll need these detailed diagrams to do it, but you can make a super sturdy concrete clock with some handmade molds and basic clock mechanisms.

A milk carton is just the right bookend size. Spray paint through lace to add some pattern, like this blogger did.

Let concrete dry around foam numbers in a tub round or other circular mold to create a personalized paver, as done here.
