These guys are pretty scary on paper: descendants of dinosaurs, armed with claws and sharp beaks, capable of flight, etc. However, if you're willing to put in the time and effort, birds can be great, lifelong companions. Many bird species live somewhere between 20 and 50 years (in captivity), so they are a long term commitment. But after bonding with your bird and training them how to behave properly, you're left with a great, feathery friend.

These guys can be absolute demons or total cuddle bugs, and they can vacillate between those two attitudes in the blink of an eye. But cat owners who are committed to caring for and bonding with their pets will be able to understand their behaviors and get the best out of their furry friends. Many purrs to you and yours!
