'Solo: A Star Wars Story' Premiere Lands On Hollywood Blvd.

The Millennium Falcon towered above Hollywood Blvd. to the delight of fans

With the Millennium Falcon parked on Hollywood Blvd., the galaxy’s best and brightest stars hit the red carpet at the world premiere of “Solo: A Star Wars Story”, including cast members Emilia Clarke, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson and director Ron Howard.

The air of excitement in Hollywood was palpable Thursday night (May 10, 2018) as crowds came in droves for the world premiere of the highly anticipated "Solo: A Star Wars Story." Some even dressed in their favorite Star Wars character. To add the appropriate block-buster atmosphere, towering in the middle of Hollywood Blvd. was Disney's enormous replica of the iconic spaceship, Millennium Falcon, which delighted fans to no end... many dressed in Solo vests and Lando capes.

The lineup of stars lit-up the red carpet which of course, included the stars from the new film: Alden Ehrenreich, Emilia Clarke, Thandie Newton, Joonas Suotamo, Woody Harrelson, and Donald Glover.

Harrison Ford, who first portrayed the roguish smuggler in the previous films, was not in attendance. Sources connected to Harrison told TMZ ... "he's seen the flick and thinks it's "phenomenal." He didn't show up because he didn't wanna steal Alden's thunder." However, other iconic stars from the "old" films were on hand for the star-studded event at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood. Among them were Mark Hamill, Billy Dee Williams, and Ewan McGregor.

Directed by Ron Howard, "Solo" stars Alden Ehrenreich in the titular role as Hans Solo. The new "Star Wars" movie — the second one in the anthology series after "Rogue One"— portrays the early adventures of the free-spirited smuggler, including encounters with his future copilot Chewbacca (Joonas Suotam) and space rogue Lando Calrissian (Donald Glover).

    About the film:

Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course of one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes.

Curtains open on "Solo: A Star Wars Story" Friday, May 25. Check out the photos from the event, below:
