This Rape Victim Is Being Harassed Online By Greens Members Who Think Her Story Is A Conspiracy

They've accused her of lying to try and take down the Greens Party...

Earlier this week, Sydney based journalist Lauren Ingram took to Twitter to open up about her rape ordeal.

Through a series of tweets, Lauren details how she was raped on Anzac Day 2015 by a man who is a member of the Australian Greens

I've talked about this before but not in detail. So here is it: in April 2015 I was raped by a man who is a Greens member

Lauren says that she reported her rapist to the police, and later to the Greens, who told her that four similar complaints had already been made about the same person

I was told that there were FOUR other complaints about him that were submitted to the Greens, ranging from sexual harassment to assault

But despite knowing about these serious allegations, the Greens allowed her alleged rapist to continue his party membership

Despite this they have apparently decided to not cancel his membership. Even though five different women complained about him abusing them

Following on from Lauren's tweets, the Australian Greens put out a statement the following day confirming they did not act on the allegations until February of this year.

Even in spite of a possible future defamation lawsuit, Lauren made the brave decision to name her alleged rapist as Jarah Crook, a former Greens staffer, who is tagged in this photo alongside West Australian Greens Senator, Scott Ludlam, and Member for Prahran in the Victorian State Parliament, Sam Hibbins

It must be noted that at this stage, Mr. Crook has not been been formally charged, and that these allegations remain as just that, allegations.

Now, Lauren claims that she's received a barrage of abuse from Green party members, predominately male, who have accused her of lying in an attempt to take down the Australian Greens

Then there's the deluge of men from the Greens who have determined that I am lying and trying to take down the party

One example of these men is Peter Kelly, who in his twitter description claims he is into "Greens issues, human rights, atheism and anti-feminism". Peter suggests that Lauren's allegations are "false".

    @Was_geht_man @GreensNSW @Greens @laureningram We don't know there has been a rape. We all have a right not be fals… https://t.co/eDTQG6KKs8

In response to all of this, Lauren has fought back against what she labels as "conspiracies" about her agenda, saying she has never been a member of a political party and has even voted Green in the past

I am not currently & have never been a member of a political party. I have voted for the Greens, Labor & independents in different elections

It has also now been revealed by Greens member Megan Wells, that some within the party have been trying to cover up and bury the story within Greens circles by deleting posts about it in various Facebook groups.

I am watching with horror yet complete lack of shock as a male admin of Greens FB group deletes and buries posts about the NSW Greens rapist

Greens leader Senator Richard Di Natale has not yet commented on this issue.

The only Greens politician to comment on this story to date is Brisbane City Councillor Jonathan Sri, who admits that he initially did not feel inclined to say anything about it, but later felt compelled to comment after accepting that he is now someone who holds influence in the Greens party

Hopefully for Lauren's sake there can soon be some closure on this issue.
