Earlier this week, Sydney based journalist Lauren Ingram took to Twitter to open up about her rape ordeal.
Through a series of tweets, Lauren details how she was raped on Anzac Day 2015 by a man who is a member of the Australian Greens
Lauren says that she reported her rapist to the police, and later to the Greens, who told her that four similar complaints had already been made about the same person
But despite knowing about these serious allegations, the Greens allowed her alleged rapist to continue his party membership
Following on from Lauren's tweets, the Australian Greens put out a statement the following day confirming they did not act on the allegations until February of this year.
Even in spite of a possible future defamation lawsuit, Lauren made the brave decision to name her alleged rapist as Jarah Crook, a former Greens staffer, who is tagged in this photo alongside West Australian Greens Senator, Scott Ludlam, and Member for Prahran in the Victorian State Parliament, Sam Hibbins
It must be noted that at this stage, Mr. Crook has not been been formally charged, and that these allegations remain as just that, allegations.
