If one thing is certain, it's that Spongebob loved his pet snail Gary. Pets fill a hole in your life that you didn't even know was there before. I don't know about you but the "Where's Gary?" episode gets me every time

Spongebob was different than everyone else. He was loud, and sometimes obnoxious but that's what made him unique. Even when others tried to change him, he stayed true to who he was which is something we all should try to do. In the age of social media, many of us try too hard to emulate others when in reality we have more to offer by being ourselves.

Let's be honest, getting older sucks if you let it. One thing that kept Spongebob so upbeat was that he was a child at heart. He loved going to Grandma's house to eat cookies and be a kid again. This should teach all of us that being young at heart is perfectly okay and definitely beats the alternative.

Pretty Patties was an idea Spongebob had that was met with judgment. He was told his idea was stupid and that no one would buy colored Krabby Patties (think Jeff Bezos and the creation of Amazon as a real life example). Spongebob didn't listen and went on to sell at least 46,853 Pretty Patties.

In the Perfect Squidward episode, after having crowds follow him around, invade his privacy, and steal his belongings, Squidward wants his old face and life back. Today many people alter their appearance and personality to achieve fame and regret their decisions later on in life

Plankton made his whole life about stealing the Krabby Patty formula, he was always jealous of Mr. Krabs' success. Had he spent the same amount of time and energy on his own restaurant, he too could have been a success
