WTF?? Have You Heard The Rumor That Party City Has Been Using Real Human Skin To Make Their Clown Masks?

Look, there's this really crazy rumor going around about Party City. Is it truly disturbing? Yes. Are we going to tell you about it anyway? Also yes. Was it started by a marketing team to entertain folks like you? ...Maybe.

So, here's the rumor: Party City's been using real human skin to make their clown masks.

Real. Human. Skin. Some say Party City is using a three-pronged approach to harvest it.

They rob graves, rob morgues, and grow medical-grade skin grafts in a science lab. (Okay, that last one isn't quite as scary, but what if you knew that the lab was in a realllyyy creepy basement with only one flickering light?)

Apparently, they've been doing this for years, too. So basically, if you bought a mask like this last Halloween:

Now, you may be asking, "Why the heck would someone do this, let alone Party City?" Well, their reasoning is actually pretty sound.

"You see, after years of hard work and experimentation, we discovered that the only way to get the exact right texture and 'mouth-feel' for our CMs [clown masks] was to use human skin," one Party City costume designer may have said, hypothetically.

"After all," they may have continued, "what's the point of wearing, say, a creepy 1920s-style carnival clown mask if it doesn't look and feel like what an actual killer clown's face would have felt like back then? It's just common sense for us in the spooky biz."

Customers certainly have a lot to say about it, too. In fact, one might have even said something like, "I had no idea the masks were made from real human skin. Actually, I don't even really mind that. The problem I have with the mask is that my wife tried it on and it fused to her face."

"She has to live her life as a decaying clown now. Her job interviews have not been going well. Oh, and spiders keep crawling out of her mouth and eyes, and at exactly midnight every night, she wakes up and whispers in my ear that I'm going to die by choking on a hot dog. So overall, I'd have to give the mask a 10/10. It's a bummer about my wife, but the mask is definitely absolutely terrifying, which is how it was marketed, so I can't say anything bad about it."
