When the American-Icelandic-Canadian franchise introduced Darling, a princess who wants to be a warrior rather then royal, people's gaydars skyrocketed, and was even more heavily suggested when a book was released parodying Rapunzel with her playing the prince and Duchess Swan, the (rather nasty) princess daughter of Odette. BUT it was proven that she likes girls as she kissed Apple White and it broke the spell.
