Tracee Ellis Ross Isn't Here For Society's Idea Of The Perfect Body

"I want to feel empowered and inspired."

In a previous interview with The Breakfast Club, Tracee Ellis Ross expressed her annoyance with the beauty standards and pressure society has placed on women. In a recent Facebook video, she decided elaborate a bit more:

Tracee begins her video by clarifying that she advocates for women to do whatever they want with their bodies, as long as it’s because THEY want to, not because society says to.

She then calls out the way society objectifies a woman’s body and gives a very narrow definition of what beauty is.

She also adds that she feels our culture has failed us as women.

She suggests that in order to find self-love, both men and women need to participate in the conversation.

And we can all agree that we hope everyone can find self-love and make decisions regardless of anyone else's opinion.
