What Are Some Little Ways To Be More Affectionate With Your Friends And Loved Ones From Afar?

We can still sing "Oh, you've got a friend in me" even when we're all holed up at home.

By now, we should all be practicing social distancing to slow the spread of coronavirus. During a time like this, more than ever, we appreciate a kind act or gentle gesture from our loved ones. Sometimes it's all we need, and it's something we have to remember to do.

Unfortunately, that's difficult right now when a lot of us are isolated from our friends, family members, and significant others. So today, we want to know YOUR way of being gentle with the people you love and care for — from far away!

Are you making phone and video calls now rather than just texting, or do you lend an ear over phone or text whenever they have to rant about a bad day? Do you tell them you appreciate it when they listen to your ranting and let you vent?

Maybe you like making them laugh by sending them dumb memes, tagging them in funny posts, and showing them silly TikTok videos — whatever you think will make them chuckle so they don't go nuts from cabin fever!

Perhaps you're paying to get their fave takeout delivered to their doorstep or, if you live close enough, you're cooking them dinner on the weekends and leaving it at their door.

Maybe you have "digital movie dates," where you watch a movie online at the same time. Or maybe you're the silent type, preferring to keep them on FaceTime or video while the two of you do other things, just to keep each other company through the screen.

Whatever it is, we could all use some tips on how to be gentle with the people we care about — let us know your best one in the comments below and it might be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community post!
