It’s that time of year again. You know, the time of year where your fantasy football league is nearing its end, you’re worried about your team’s spot in the actual NFL playoffs, and you’re prepping your house for your team’s first playoff game. If they made it. And if they haven’t? It’s the time of year where you (blasphemously) support your second favorite team. Get your home game-day ready with these surefire ways to turn your playoff party up a notch.

1. Make a touch-down worthy menu

Let’s face it: one of the reasons we all love football Sundays is the food. There are so many tasty appetizers, dips, and snacks designated as game-day gourmet. Not to mention, there are some pretty adorable football-shaped foods out there to consider.

There’s no such thing as “extra” when it comes to game day eats!

Pinterest is good for a great many things, such as artistically (though maybe not so tasty) colored drink recipes. But don’t fret; Pinterest isn’t the end-all-be-all for party drinks. There are other solid staples to consider. Gameday is always a wonderful time to suggest jello shots. Especially when you can create them in any color you want. Why not support your team with a vodka-infused cup of jello? Exactly.

For what it’s worth, the Patriots aren’t blue and white. They’re navy and silver. If you’re in Pittsburgh, you know the proper colors are black and yellow. This is a serious business, folks, and decorating without the appropriate colors is a fan faux-pas.

This is also important to remember for your gameday garb. If you’re not dressed in team colors, is it really the playoffs? Is it even a party? Be sure to be dressed in your Sunday best, i.e. your lucky jersey that might not even fit properly anymore thanks to years of wear and tear.
