Woah! You Wouldn't Believe How Much The Book They Were Reading In English Class In A Movie Matched Up With The Plot Of The Movie!

Coincidence??

Posted on

1. Mean Girls

Even the biggest Mean Girls buffs probably never picked up on this! The movie they were reading in English class--Ron Chernow's Hamilton--was totally reminiscent of Gretchen's plot to kill Regina George! Weird! Now it's being made into a play as well.

2. Pretty in Pink

This may have been the OG (original) movie to employ the English class/same plot as movie trope! I mean look at the similarity between Molly Ringwald's and Megan Kelly's hair!

3. 10 Things I Hate About You

Didn't see this one coming did you? But why did you think the entirety of 10 Things I Hate About You was filmed in the comic book filter on Photo Booth? For production design purposes? To quote another teen classic, AS IF! (The movie I am quoting is called Clueless). Anyway, the entire film is a long form comic strip to match the aesthetic of the book they're reading in English class, The Diary of a Wimpy Kid! Duh!

5. She's The Man

This Amanda Bynes classic totally copied the concepts of sexuality, femininity and nationality found in Rupi Kaur's Milk and Honey. But DID YOU NOTICE that that's the same book they were reading in English class in the movie! Ugh, obvious metaphor much?
