Here Are Some Harry Potter Behind The Scenes Facts

1. The hug between Voldemort and Draco in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 wasn't planned.

Ralph Fiennes (Voldemort) and Tom Felton (Draco) tried the scene in a few different ways, when Ralph had an idea. Without telling Tom, he decided that when the young actor went to pass him, he would embrace him. The reaction on Tom's face was real.

2. Harry's eyes aren't green because of an allergic reaction.

When Daniel Radcliffe first tried filming with green contact lenses, he had a really bad allergic reaction. They had him use his normal eye color for the entire filming process. For the scene where Harry is possessed by Voldemort in The Order of The Phoenix, Daniel's eyes had to be digitally altered.

3. McGonagall and Snape's fight scene in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows Part 2 was almost cut out of the movie.

The producers almost changed the amazing fight scene to Snape fighting Harry, instead of McGonagall. They kept it in however, because J.K. Rowling felt it was an important moment for McGonagall. It also gives you a bit of an idea of Snape's true nature. If you watch this GIF closely, you can see that Snape directs one of her spells to knockout the Carrow siblings.

4. The Room of Requirement had old props in it.

If you look closely during most of the Room of Requirement scenes, you are bound to spot a few familiar things lying around. There are the Harp and chess pieces from The Sorcerer's Stone, and some of the Cornish Pixies from The Chamber of Secrets.

5. Hedwig was played by several different owls during filming.

Some were named Elmo, WTON, Gizmo, and Sprout.

6. Hermione was originally supposed to have buckteeth

Emma Watson was going to wear fake buck-teeth for Harry Potter and The Sorcerer's Stone. However, it made it hard for her to talk normally. So, they had her not use them. The only scene you can see them used in, is at the ending scene where Harry, Ron, and Hermione are about to board the train to return home.

7. Daniel Radcliffe went through a lot of wands while filming.

It is estimated that between the first and the last Harry Potter movie, Daniel Radcliffe went through about 80 wands.

8. The Chamber of Secrets' door actually works.

For the filming of the scenes with the chamber door, they used a real door that was opened by machines.
