Instagram Brings #Curvy Back

    Rejoice!

Last week, BuzzFeed Life reported that Instagram had banned "curvy" as a search term. This was how things looked then.

At the time, an Instagram spokesperson said that the ban was a response to the tag's frequent use alongside images that violated the app's explicit content policies.

However as pointed out by many of the women who participated in the #curvee movement to protest the ban, other terms more obviously related to explicit content were still searchable.

Well, it's time to get excited...

... because as of this morning, it looks like #curvy's back in town.

“We want people to be able to express themselves, and hashtags are a great way to do that," a spokesperson for Instagram tells BuzzFeed Life.

"At the same time, we have a responsibility to act when we see hashtags being used to spread inappropriate content to our community. In the case of #curvy, we don't like putting restrictions around a term that many people use in very positive ways, so we have decided to unblock the hashtag while taking steps to ensure that it's not used as a vehicle for bad content."

Only a few photos are up under the tag so far, so you know what that means... time to start posting!
