By now, you've probably seen that Jack Antonoff and Margaret Qualley got married this past weekend in a private ceremony at Long Beach Island (LBI) on the Jersey Shore.
Of course, Taylor and Jack are close collaborators, having worked together on several of Taylor's albums like 1989, Folklore, Evermore, Midnights, and several of the vault tracks on the Taylor's Version albums.
And while it has been a minute since Taylor was not onstage and was simply trying to live her life, it seems like people have forgotten how to act. Chaotic crowds formed outside a restaurant in LBI over the weekend as Taylor attended a dinner for Jack and Margaret's wedding.
After Taylor was spotted entering the restaurant, it didn't take long for crowds of people to gather outside, with people reportedly chanting Taylor's name and trying to record even the smallest glimpse of the singer.

According to TMZ, Beach Haven police were informed of the upcoming wedding several weeks ago, and tried to prepare with more security and officers on duty to control potential crowds.
When Taylor eventually left the venue alongside Zoë and Channing, she also looked stunned at the amount of people gathered:
She politely smiled and waved, and honestly, she handled this much better than I probably would've:
As videos of the whole ordeal went viral online, many of Taylor's fans were quick to point out how unacceptable the behavior is, especially from people who claim to be fans of the singer:
no no. we know not to invade taylor’s privacy and personal life. these are not “fans”. us fans are in bed watching hulu and pissed off watching this unfold on the timeline https://t.co/uYuqGBlGmL

imagine going to your best friends wedding, a night dedicated to him & his future wife, and your psychotic “fans” show up outside crowding the place making it about you. that’s so fucking embarrassing & all of you are probably making taylor feel like shit while also ruining an…
We joke about gatekeeping, but being a Taylor Swift fan was significantly more fun when people treated her like a person instead of a way to create content. This is embarrassing. https://t.co/sr3HNha1mT
Taylor Swift can perform 146 3+ hour Eras shows, put out multiple albums per year, sign thousands of CDs and vinyls, treat her fans with such love, but people still feel the need to threaten her privacy and safety on what should be a nice weekend off with friends
so sad for jack & margaret because there’s no way they would’ve never not invited taylor bc jack and taylor are so close and now it’s a huge thing & taylor probably even feels guilty for these people causing a disturbance but it’s not her fault ppl stalk her every movement

In particular, many of Taylor's fans started resurfacing a moment from her 2020 Netflix documentary Miss Americana, where Taylor talks about seeing the massive crowds outside her NYC apartment as she's trying to leave.
In the moment, Taylor says how she's aware how it's "not normal" to see all of those people directly outside your front door.
In the documentary, Taylor continues, saying how she often doesn't look at photos of herself, especially photos taken by paparazzi or people when she's leaving places, because it has "triggered" her eating disorder.
The clip from Miss Americana has been re-shared on both Twitter and TikTok, with fans captioning the scene with reminders to other people to not hunt down Taylor:
And people in the comments are echoing the original post's sentiments:
Listen, would I absolutely fall over if I got to meet Taylor Swift? Yes. But, there is a time and place to see her, and it's definitely not looking for her location and showing up outside.
