We love and hate Emma Woodhouse, but that's what makes the book so complex. There will be times you want to just yell at her, and then you'll begin to pity and love her again.

Emma!

The classic Jane Austen book. Of course you might've already read this, but why not give it a second go around. These characters never cease to amaze me, because you eventually come to understand they're all quite flawed. Perhaps Charlotte is the only sensible one of the crew, but then again that's why she marries boring Mr. Collins.

Pride and Prejudice

So underrated. If you like the English seaside and you're a sucker for shy people then Anne Elliot is the heroine for you. Persuasion, Austen's last complete book, absolutely makes one fall in love with Anne, and by the end you'll be rooting for her happy ending.

Persuasion

First of all, Emma Thompson's movie adaption of this book is pretty good. So read the book first, and then watch the movie. Yes she's a little old to play the part of Elinor, but she's Emma freakin Thompson so it doesn't matter. This book brings us the Dashwood family and their untimely fall from luxury. However, they seem to find the happiness in small pleasures and new friends, until those friends become foes ...
