5 Things That Will Restore Your Faith In Humanity When You're Literally The Last Surviving Human On Earth

So you have mere minutes left until your inevitable demise? KMS. Right? But, alas, there’s no need to frett! Here are a bunch of ways you can keep yourself calm and prepare for your final moments. Because let’s be real… everyone wants to go out in style. And you're about to be out of this world!

Posted on

1. Take a deep breath

I know... I know. It's easier said than done when you're literally approaching the dawn of the apocalypse. But it's important to control your breathing in order to lower your anxiety levels. The last thing you want to do is break out into a full-blown panic attack as the sun crashes to the earth or a tsunami is about to enclose you or... You get the point.

2. Picture yourself somewhere else

Imagine you're on a beach... not the lava kind or the black opaque polluted kind. The crystal blue, gently lapping at your feet kind. You look up at the sky and the sun is shining... but not in a 70 degrees celsius, melting your flesh way. Maybe you're at a resort? Maybe you're in your childhood home? Whatever it is, focus on the picture. This way you'll be able to die in peace and tranquillity.

3. Listen to 'End of the World' themed music

Everybody loves to make a good playlist to suit... well, every mood. And the best part of the apocalypse? You have complete control of the AUX cord! At least when your friends are dead they can't complain about your impeccable music taste. Now the earth is baron you have free reign... but here are a few suggestions anyway. So that you can dance like there's no one watching and party like there's no tomorrow (because there literally is no tomorrow).

1) Belinda Carlisle - 'Heaven Is a Place on Earth' .

2) R.E.M - 'It's the end of the World as We Know It (And I Feel Fine)'.

3) Billy Idol - 'Dancing With Myself'.

4) Britney Spears - 'Til The World Ends' .

5) The Bee Gees - 'Stayin' Alive'.

4. Remember your past and take it all in once last time

So it's time, huh? You've seen it in the movies a million times. The flashbacks you have of your life until this moment; before death embraces you. So what's it that you're holding onto? Friendships? Loved ones? Mistakes? Regrets? Laughter? Tears? Maybe you're taken back to that night. Did something spring to mind? What was it? What do you see? Maybe it's your first formal; the song that played during that slow dance. Or when you got that promotion and you screamed in the lift on the way down to your car. Or when you met that person; what was the weather like that day? Picture what they were wearing... I bet you remember every detail. Wow. Talk about a trip down memory lane. Nostalgia can hurt like a bitch! But at least you made a life worth longing for. Ammirite?

5. The Last Hurrah

By now you've taken the time to calm your nerves. You've listened to that perfect song for the last time. You've relived those defining memories. All that's left is to succumb to the abyss. Close your eyes and prepare for the end. I guess you could say it's been a blast... see you on the other side.
