BBCNews posted a video on Instagram from Jack Perkins, who was recently filming grounded planes in Atlanta during a thunderstorm, when lightning struck a plane.
WOW.
Luckily, according to Scientific American, passengers may see the flash from the lightning bolt, but "nothing serious should happen because of the careful lightning protection engineered into the aircraft and its sensitive components."
