BTS Dethrones Taylor Swift For The Most Watched Music Video In 24 Hours

The Korean Kings break another record!

So, if you don't know who BTS is, then someone's been living under a rock. But to catchup with today's hottest players in the music industry, here's a quick refresher.

Debuting in 2013, BTS is a 7-member K-Pop group. Their name stands for Bangtan Sonyeondan (방탄소년단), which translates to Bulletproof Boyscouts in english. However, their rebranded name stands for Beyond the Scene. The members (from oldest to youngest): Kim Seok-jin (Jin), Min Yoongi (Suga), Jung Hoseok (J-Hope), Kim Namjoon (RM), Park Jimin (Jimin), Kim Taehyung (V), and Jeon Jungkook (Junkook)

On Friday, August 24, BTS released their latest music video "IDOL."

The video was posted on their main YouTube channel ibighit . They also released their newest album, Love Yourself: Answer (out now on Spotify, iTunes, and other streaming platforms).

Taylor Swift was the previous record holder with 43.2 million views in 24 hours for her music video “Look What You Made Me Do.”

However, BTS was able to snatch that title (and my wig), amassing over 45 million views (according to YouTube) or 56.2 million views (according to dedicated ARMYs who kept updated on the video's hourly progress).

The BTS fanbase is called ARMY, which is an acronym for Adorable Representative M.C for Youth.

This exceeds their previous record for their song "Fake Love," which gained over 35.9 million views in 24 hours back in May of this year.
