The achievement gap is usually described as the academic difference in test scores between students from low-income homes or minorities and the scores of Caucasian and Asian students.
The achievement gap can start as early as pre-k and on up through 12th grade. Test score gaps can lead to long term gaps that result in non-completion of high school, college, and the careers that these students end up getting as adults.
