Have you ever packed up your bags to travel to an exotic location and to save money you thought it would be a great idea to stay in a hostel? A great idea until you arrived.

Do not get me wrong, hostels can be a cost effective and a pleasurable experience, but there are always travellers that make the experience very hard to enjoy.

The Noise Monger

Whether it's the excessive loud snoring, the half hearted whispering, the rustling of plastic bags all hours of the night, or the constant door slamming. Noise is noise. You've had a long day visiting historical sites and doing what travellers usually do, only to come back to a shared dorm and the usual culprit is doing what they do best: disrupting the peace.

Nose picking, brushing teeth in the kitchen sink, not bathing for days, kissing the local stray dogs, excessive crotch scratching and sniffing - these are just a few things that I have personally witnessed. Yes, travellers can be some of the most unhygienic human beings you will ever meet, with very little regard for their own personal hygiene or the environment around them.
