Although it's undoubtedly one of the most heartwarming sights you’ll see on the road — furry ears and tongues flapping in the wind — it's illegal for your pet pooch to stick its head out of a car window when driving. Your dog should be secure or “suitably restrained” when travelling to avoid distraction or injury.

What do you do if you get into trouble on a motorway?

Variable speed limits will often be triggered when congestion is starting to build up ahead, or when the volume of traffic has reached a point where this is about to happen. A speed restriction remains in place until either a national speed limit symbol, an ‘END’ signal or a new speed limit is displayed. It couldn't be simpler, right?
