Michelle Yeoh And Jean Todt Just Got Married After A 19-Year Engagement

“Today after 6,992 days on 27th July 2023 in Geneva, surrounded by loving family and friends, we are so happy to celebrate this special moment together!”

Michelle Yeoh and Jean Todt just got married!

Michelle, 60, met the motor racing executive in Shanghai in 2004 while she was doing publicity for Ferrari. She was previously married to studio head Dickson Poon, during which she took a break from acting, and then was briefly engaged to a cardiologist named Alan Heldman.

Speaking to the Guardian in 2021, Michelle said, “We’ve been threatening to get married for such a long time. Sometimes we say, ‘Wait, didn’t we already do it?’" When asked about "commitment issues," she replied "Oh stop!"

In Town & Country the following year, Michelle said of their engagement, “He counts the number of days rather than the years. I’ll ask him, ‘What is the present for 6,725 days?’” When asked about rumors that they were thinking of getting married soon, she replied with a snort, "Thinking!" Indeed, they'd apparently been too busy over the years to plan the simple ceremony they wanted.

Well, looks like that day has come! Amid the SAG-AFTRA strike — which led to the shutdown of Michelle's next movie, Wicked — the two decided to tie the knot. A program posted by ex-Formula One driver Felipe Massa read: “We met in Shanghai on 4th June 2004."

“On 26th July 2004, J.T proposed to marry M.Y and she said YES,” it continued, noting that the two got engaged less than two months after meeting.
