Bella Hadid shared a GoFundMe page, and it's raising some eyebrows.
For context, according to Yolanda Hadid, Bella was diagnosed with "chronic Lyme disease" in 2012 and was subsequently in "extensive holistic treatment."
Bella has been out of the public eye for some months now, dealing with a Lyme "flare up." She said in an Instagram post this weekend, "Thankful to my mommy for keeping all of my medical records, sticking by me, never leaving my side, protecting, supporting, but most of all, believing me through all of this."
Now, a celeb sharing a GoFundMe can be controversial in and of itself. However, this weekend Bella posted about Tracy Piper, a self-described "Detox Specialist, Colon Therapist, Acupuncturist, [and] Massage Therapist." Bella called her "my sister, angel, [and] mentor" who had "helped me so much on my journey."
The GoFundMe read, "I am asking for assistance to complete the purchase of our upstate New York location to continue helping people with health challenges find alternative & holistic ways to improve their health."
"On the personal front, I'm happy to say that my own father is now cancer free after only 1 conventional treatment for the disease AND attending 5 of my retreats and adhering to the lifestyle changes I have coached him through," the GoFundMe continued on a screenshot that Bella shared. Bella herself further called Tracy a "true healer."
The model further added that she had "just donated." However, the GoFundMe page appears to have since been taken down. A spokesperson for GoFundMe told BuzzFeed, "The fundraiser has been temporarily suspended because our Terms of Service prohibits fundraisers that offer rewards or giveaways. We are working with the organizer to address this issue, so the fundraiser can be reinstated."
