"I have done my fair share of drinking."

In a new interview with InStyle, Bella Hadid spoke about why she decided to stop drinking alcohol.

For context, Bella gave up drinking around six months ago. She previously made headlines in 2014 for getting a DUI when she was just 17 years old.

"I have done my fair share of drinking. I loved alcohol and it got to the point where even I started to, you know, cancel nights out that I felt like I wouldn't be able to control myself," she told InStyle.

One of the things that encouraged her to stop drinking was getting a brain scan from her doctor that showed her how alcohol affected her brain, which made it "a lot harder to pick up the glass."

"I don't feel the need [to drink] because I know how it will affect me at 3 in the morning when I wake up with horrible anxiety thinking about that one thing I said five years ago when I graduated high school," Bella continued.

"There's just this never-ending effect of, essentially, you know, pain and stress over those few drinks that didn't really do much, you know?"

Bella is currently cofounder and partner of Kin Euphorics, a nonalcoholic drinks brand.
