Reviewers love 'em for warmth, coziness, productivity help, and ergonomic comfort — both in these chilly months and beyond.

    1. A gel-enhanced seat cushion because you spend eight-plus hours in one seat day in and day out, so your tush and lower back deserve anything that makes them more comfortable. The little gap at the back helps lessen the pressure on your tailbone, which could even help your posture.

Promising review: "I am a college student and I spend several hours each day sitting on uncomfortable chairs in my apartment reading and writing. I began to have pain when sitting, so I ordered this. It is absolutely wonderful. It takes the pressure off of my coccyx area and I am finally comfortable and pain-free!" —Amazon Customer

Promising reviews: "Got this blanket to have as a lightweight throw on the couch. Really cozy and lightweight. I used it on my lap while working from home until my dog discovered it and claimed it for her own. I will probably order a second one as the dog has no intention of giving it back. 10/10, person and dog approved." —kirbysmom

"I saw this blanket on TikTok and I have to say I absolutely love it. I washed it several times now and it’s maintained its elasticity and softness after each wash. It’s warm enough but not too hot for a throw. Absolutely recommend this blanket!" —Amy

    3. A pastel mug warmer so when you have one of those days where you sit down at 9 a.m. for your first meeting of the day, then feel like you blink and it's suddenly two hours later, your coffee will still be perfectly hot (key on a chilly winter morning!) drinkable, and ready to power you through your next block of tasks.

Promising review: "Like so many people, I often get so involved in my work that I forget to drink my coffee so when I do reach for it, it is cold. This mug warmer has changed all that. I put my coffee on it when I walk into my home office and no matter how distracted I get, when I want a sip of coffee it is at the perfect temperature for me. I typically use it at the highest level of heat. It fits nicely on the corner of my desk and matches all my desk accessories. I did notice that it does not work as well on one very tall mug I have, but other than that one it is good for mugs of all sizes. I would highly recommend this cup warmer to anyone who is tired of cold coffee at work." —Rev Maria

    4. A smart reusable notebook so you can have your cake (handwritten notes the way you prefer them) and eat it too (a digital copy of everything you write). Yes, really.

Promising review: "I was given my first Rocketbook by a family member as a gift. The app and the ability to send sheets directly to email, Google Drive, Dropbox or other places is one of the best features. By simply naming your pages and setting the destination you can create a system for storing notes that makes sense instead of having notes in a notebook that are stuck there forever." —BrandonS

    5. A pair of wireless Bluetooth earbuds that clock in at under $30 *and* happen to be similar to AirPods (according to some reviewers) AS WELL as waterproof, meaning you can shower with 'em and listen to whatever music you want to block out distracting sounds, all without bothering your partner/roommates. Over 230,000 people have rated these five stars — that's like, approximately the population of Richmond, Virginia or Spokane, Washington — so you know they're good.

Each pair comes with a wireless charging case, so you can power them up on the go!

Promising review: "I never leave reviews, but I've been on the hunt for a pair of wireless buds forever without having to pay the AirPod price and I finally found them! I saw these on a BuzzFeed article. I put left them in my cart for ages and finally bought them the other day. I wasn't hopeful and figured I could return them if I hated them but let me tell you. I work from home and I used them all day for work on Zoom calls yesterday, an hour-long phone therapy session, and another few hours of work after that. Throughout the day there was no crackle or static, no dropped sound, everyone said they could hear me very clearly, and with a house full of people and a crying baby — I heard almost NOTHING. They easily connected to my phone and my computer. And at the end of the day I still had 40% battery left." —Ceton Tate

    6. Or the new Beats Studio Pro headphones if you prefer an over-ear option with all the bells and whistles like Active Noise Cancelling — your concentration's about to double — plus spacial audio, 40 hours of battery life, a 10-minute charge option that results in an additional 4 hours of sound, and of course a wireless Bluetooth connection. One reviewer praises the sound quality and says its like a concert hall, which IMO is an ideal upgrade to your Thursday afternoon spreadsheet time.

Promising review: "My hair is on the 'bigger' side, so headphones tend to become uncomfortable after an hour or two of usage. However, these are so comfortable and light that I often forget I've got them on. I'm by no means an expert on this topic, but the sound quality these headphones provide is unreal. When listening to my favorite songs, I pick up on background instruments I was previously unable to. It's just so amazing to be able to listen to music like this. The noise cancellation is also top tier. Even in a crowded room, nouse just disappears with the press of a button. Transparent mode works extremely well, too. I love being able to hold a conversation while still being able to hear my music. I HIGHLY recommend these headphones for anyone looking for a more budget-friendly alternative to more pricy competitors." —Shanae

    7. laptop stand to give your achy neck, shoulders, and back a break by bringing your screen up to eye-level the way it's supposed to be. When you have to gaze down, it puts strain on all those body parts — why not fix it for less than $30?

a reviewer's black laptop on the black stand
A reviewer's laptop resting on the stand on a desk

Promising review: "This was recommended in an article about working from home. It is SO worth it! It's incredibly sturdy. The laptop is now placed at a perfect angle. I bought a wireless keyboard which I can use with my laptop when the laptop is in the stand — and then at the end of my workday, I just slide my wireless keyboard under the laptop in the space created by the stand, and I regain that bit of space on my table. I love it. Add in the brushed silvery tone, and it has been a great investment for me." —Joe Mama

    8. A pair of blue-light-blocking glasses if you feel like all your hours on the computer in front of the super bright screen have started to impact your sleep. Although it might be placebo effect, reviewers do swear that these warm-tinted lenses make a genuine difference — hey, whatever works to help you sleep better!

Read more about the effects of blue light and sleep at UC Davis Health and the American Academy of Ophthalmology. And yep, these block blue light from other screens like your TV or e-reader just as effectively!

Promising review: "For good sleep, I thought why not. Glad I did. I put them on as soon as it is dusk and wear throughout the evening until bed for the nights I am home, and I have experienced deeper sleep. The frames are on the cheaper side, but are very light-weight, and the large lens are also very comfortable as well as cover the whole eye. I have used amber glasses before, but they were too dark and distracting. No problem with this pair — the very light amber is not distracting at all, and I forget I have them on. This has been the cheapest sleep aid I have ever tried. Is this just coincidence or placebo? Don't know! But can report results." —ishopamazon

Get them from Amazon for $13.99+ (available in 17 colors and multi-packs).

    9. A reversible waterproof desk mat to add a fun pop of color but most importantly, to buffer your shiny, nice work desk from all the typical spills, scuffs, and scratches that'll occur when you eat lunch at your desk (it's Soup Season after all, so there are gonna be drips) for the fourth day in a row.

You could also use it to protect your kitchen table, and make it feel more like a work space!

Promising review: "I'm an art teacher, and working from home was going to put a lot of strain on my wood desk. I ordered this desk pad because mint green is my favorite color, and I wanted something to protect my desk from paint and other art supplies. It arrived today, and it was so cute! It's exactly what I wanted. It's thin enough not to add too much bulk to the desk, the color is so fun, and it wipes off easily. I love that it's reversible, too, so I'll probably use one side for making tutorial videos for my classes and the other for when I'm painting. I was worried that it wouldn't lie flat because it came rolled up, but it lay flat immediately. And it came with a cute little belt in case I need to roll it back up again and store it!" —Jill S

They stick lots of spots with the included adhesive, so you can get 'em exactly where you need them!

Promising review: "These clips are great for keeping your cables from cluttering up work and living spaces. In addition to my desk at work, I have these all over my house, next to a bedroom nightstand, home office desk, kitchen island, living room tables, and even on a table on my back patio. So simple, but genius. They adhere and stay put without issue. Phone cables slide in and out easily as needed, yet stay secure behind the flexible rubber lip with regular use and pressure." —J. Post

Great purchase for the price." —Ashley

    13. Neutrogena Norwegian Formula Hand Cream, which you can keep at your desk for the inevitable moments where winter (and having the heat on) has dried your hands out so much, they feel sandpaper-y. models hand holds the cream
reviewer with dab of lotion on the back of their hand

This is my 11th winter in NYC, and every year I MUST have some sort of hand cream in my bag, because the backs of my hands always turn crusty. Some years it's this, other years it's the pricier stuff. But it all works the same!! You only need a small dab for your hands, and don't worry, it's fragrance-free! TBH a tube of this in my bag usually lasts me through most of the winter, although I also keep other lotions that I use when I'm at home.

Promising review: "This stuff is incredible. I've been using it since I was a kid and it's just perfect. I get super dry hands, especially because where I live the winters can get down to -40 degrees F. This stuff is magic. I don't know how else to explain it. This is just the best and most moisturizing hand cream I've ever tried — and I've tried a lot! A little bit of this goes a LONG way, so don't worry that it's only two ounces. One tube of this can last me probably 3–4 weeks, with me applying it every night." —hatchibomitar

It allows you to literally wrap yourself in a blanket, but still be able to use your hands, without your poor arm suffering in the cold breeze. I wear this while working from home, watching Netflix, and while taking naps. It's so comfy that there have been times I don't want to take it off when I have to run to the store — the only reason I do is because I don't want it to get dirty. I can't imagine one person who wouldn't be happy to have this wonderful bundle of coziness."

Promising review: "My keyboard to my laptop has those peel-and-stick covers that reflect the light from the monitor so you can see the keys with the lights out. Problem is there is a little stickiness around the edges. I have two cats and the keys are covered in orange fur. I had some other stuff like this that had turned to liquid. I wasn't sure it was going to be able to get all of the fur off of the keys but it got the keyboard looking brand new. If your keyboard gets dirty, you need this product. I give it the highest rating there is. You'll be happy if you buy it." —Amazon Customer

"These are literally the best leggings/joggers I have ever owned, and I plan to eventually buy every single color. I originally saw these on TikTok and heard they were like the Lululemon ones but cheaper. I've never owned Lululemon leggings, but if they feel anything like these, then I have clearly been missing out. These are soft and absolutely perfect. I love the pockets and jogger style and that they fit like leggings and can be worn to the gym or dressed up with a cute outfit. I need to buy every color of these before they're gone!" —Courtney

Promising review: "This lap desk was my biggest splurge on Prime Day. It is fantastic for working somewhere other than my desk, like the couch. It has a built- in mouse pad and slots at the top to hold my phone and a tablet. It has cushions on the bottom that elevate it and are comfortable on my lap. I’m not sure how well the fabric and mousepad material will hold up over time, but I love it so far. Easy to carry around. The cushions on the bottom, especially the larger cushion on the back on the desk, elevates the desk making it easier to type. The wrist rest on the front is also helpful." —Redheart22

You can adjust the resistance level from extremely easy to where you don't even notice you're pedaling to way more resistance where it feels like a workout. If you have it at -1 it almost feels like you're coasting. They have three different heat settings, so you can find one that's comfortable for you.

Promising review: "As a programmer working in a freezing cold office, hand warmers are a necessity. These are hilarious and adorable, and they really warm up! I like the levels of heat, though I usually just have them all the way up. They don't get too hot, and never burn. They also really don't get in my way. The cord is long enough to plug in and still work a few feet away, but if wires are a concern, I'd just get the wireless ones. My only issue is they kind of warm the backs of your hands, not necessarily your fingers. I often find myself sliding my fingers under the heater of the other hand. Overall, they're a great product, and I'm happy with them!" —Evin

Promising reviews: "I've been working from home and began experiencing wrist pain. The soft cushion from both items provided the relief I needed. Great products and price!" —Gaga2015

"Having worked from home for almost a year now without any ergonomic cushion, I finally decided to buy this and so glad I did. They come with stickers that you can place to avoid movement but so far they don't seem necessary...The mouse pad cushion feels perfect! I appreciate not having the ball of my palm resting against a hard surface all day long. This also isn't sliding around on the desk. Feels perfect. These cushions have a great memory foam feel but not so much that they are very sensitive to the touch, they mostly keep their shape." —UAstudentn

    28. A pack of five colorful wool-blend socks because nobody ever wants to suffer through cold feet or itchy feet, and having a little wool mixed in will give you that warmth while minimizing the prickly irritation you associate with wool. No holes in sight!

Promising reviews: "Great socks! Found them comparable to Talbot's but far less expensive." —Amazon Customer

    30. The Hon Ignition 2.0 ergonomic chair that's kind of expensive, but worth the splurge because it checks a bunch of the boxes for what qualifies as a well-designed chair according to OSHA, the government agency responsible for knowing these things. If you want to genuinely alleviate some of those aches and pains in your back, hips, legs, and arms, a chair like this is one good place to start.

the front of a reviewer's chair
the back of a reviewer's chair

Some of the boxes it checks include: a five-leg caster base, adjustable arm rests (height and width), adjustable height, waterfall-rounded front seat edge, breathable firm material for the seat and back, adjustable seat depth, seat tilt, adjustable lumbar support, reclining backrest that can lock into place upright (aka tilt lock), and padded arm rests.

It's not perfect, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a chair for under $1000 that was. If you're short like I am (5 feet 3 inches), you'll probably need a footrest to bring the floor to you.

It's designed to support people who weigh up to 300 pounds; if you need more weight support than that, check out the big and tall version of the same chair.

Promising reviews: "This is a good "working from home" chair. Comfortable and adjustable. I have used it for more than a year about 10 hours a day and it's still looking and feeling great. A bit expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for in this type of chair. My old $75 one started to fall apart after 6 months. I recommend it." —pmetiv

"I sit in this chair for work all day and don't feel discomfort even when I have had a 12-hour work day of sitting for 95% of the time. Highly recommend this chair! Comes with many adjustable options (height, tilt, seat depth, arm rests, lumbar support, etc) so you definitely need to spend a little time finding the right sweet spot for everything but it will pay in the long run! Seriously, this chair made me realize just how bad my old chair and freebie giveaway used chair were and they went straight to the dumpster after a week of having this chair, and put me down for getting a second!" —Corey Cotton

    31. Or a TikTok-famous padded office chair if you can't stand the look of regular office chairs, and want something cute but cushioned that you can swap out for your standing desk mat and under-desk treadmill. It's not exactly ergonomic, but reviewers like the thick cushioning, adjustable height, and that they can sit with their legs crossed.

Promising review: "Buy this chair. I’ve bought so many office chairs over the years. The classic Goldilocks story — this one’s too bulky, this one’s too flimsy, that one has too much hard plastic… yada yada. I think this one might be it. Really comfortable, solid build, attractive but the best feature is the wide seat. I can crisscross my legs easily to relieve the pressure in my hips which is life changing if you’re chained to your desk sitting in meetings all day." —Larissa Harrison

I love the top which provides a safe and cute platform to easily charge your devices without having to leave them on the floor. I will be buying a second one." —Barbara Konchinski

Saw this and had to have it! Covogoods not only communicated quickly with me, but was EXTREMELY accommodating in my requests. Turned out exactly how I envisioned it, and dimensions were spot on! 34. A Wi-Fi extender to boost the internet signal, solving that frustrating problem where the internet will only work in specific areas of your house. Set this up to eliminate those streaming and browsing dead zones, making it easy to move around to different rooms throughout the day.

Promising review: "I ordered this because we weren't getting much of a signal in our bedroom. I use the Headspace App to fall asleep, and it would take forever to load and would stop randomly to buffer. Since we pay a pretty penny for fiber internet, I decided that it might as well work where I needed it to! So I bought this, and now it works perfectly! It came the next day, was SUPER easy to install, and now we get full signal in our bedroom. No more buffering. I also love that it was super inexpensive compared to other options, but very good quality." —Sharelle York

    36. A rotating timer because it'll clearly mark "focus time" while still making sure you take breaks from constantly looking at your laptop screen (one of the things the American Academy of Opthalmology — aka eye docs — recommends to ease computer-caused eye strain). If you need to get through that Q4 project before your holiday OOO time hits next week, one of these could help your productivity.

It's a no-brainer way to set a timer in a jiff: just rotate it to the amount of time you want a timer for (5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minutes) and it immediately starts, then will sound an alarm when it's up! Oh, and you can adjust the volume up or down, too.

Promising review: "I love this timer to keep me on task while working from home! For the price, I was honestly impressed with the quality. My only suggestion would be an option for the display to stay backlit. You can press the snooze button on top to light the display for about five seconds, but that’s not super convenient if you have it rotated in timer mode, plus you have to actively press the button rather than just glancing at how much time is left. Honestly, this is a very small quibble that I could fix simply by not working in a dimly lit room, but it’s really the only critique I have. All in all, this is a fun and functional desk accessory!" —Angela Reiber

Get it from Amazon for $18.99 (available in 30- and 60-minute configurations and six colors).

    37. 38. desktop dry-erase board that you'll use constantly as a simple way to remind yourself of the most important stuff, like when you need to order your work Secret Santa gift by, in a way that's right in front of your face and a lot neater looking than a pile of sticky notes.

It comes with one dry-erase marker, but you can get a multipack that includes an eraser, a cleaner, and five pen colors for $7.57

Reviewers say this can help with ADHD symptoms, although of course YMMV; one says it's because they can never overlook it because it's right in front of their face.

Promising review: "My job is very chaotic and fast-paced. I have never loved using paper notes or notebooks. And I don't really enjoy typing my to-do lists on a screen since there are always a million windows open on my computer as it is (so sick of screens) So between those options, the angled dry erase board between my monitor and keyboard is the sweet spot. The surface is glass, feels high quality, and erases all marks as opposed to the laminate versions. Rubber feet on bottom so it doesn't move, and there's a place to keep a few markers at the top. My one issue, which is only an issue when relocating the board, it has a great drawer to keep markers etc, but it will slide out immediately when tilted. Still 5 stars. I love it." —Jennifer

    39. A two-pack of draft blockers because you're working from your home, and that entire home will stay warmer if the hot air the heater's working so hard (and costing you so much money) to make can't slip out that annoyingly large gap under your front and back doors.

It can also help reduce outside noises, which could help you concentrate better, especially if your apartment building or roommates can get kind of loud!

Promising review: "I’ll admit I was skeptical of these at first but after applying them to four of our doors we are thrilled! We live in an older home that is in no way energy efficient. ;-) We got these to help keep the hot summer heat out of the house. We have only had them for a short time but they look so good! They actually upgrade the doors a bit. ;-) The application went well and it is a firm hold. The flooring in our house meets the door almost so there’s not much room for movement and these stay put firmly when opening and closing the door. I have no doubt that they will stay on for a long time. Will probably buy another pack for the doors leading to our garage." —AHA

    40. And if you need something for just your office door, a weighted door draft stopper designed specifically in a triangle shape so it can wedge under there and block warm air from leaking out — or distracting noise from your kid's TV show from leaking in.

Promising review: "If you have a drafty door you absolutely need this. It is made of fabric and has some weight to it which is a great feature. The added weight helps hold it down and absorb the cold. When I walk by the door and the draft stopper is on I can't feel ANY cold coming in... I highly recommend this door stopper if you have a drafty door. Whether it be for cool air in the winter or you losing AC in the summer." —Nikki
