Summer is over and everything sucks.
When you're lying awake at 2am trying to get to sleep, remember that all us fellow travellers are here with you, suffering in the dark.
You're all: "This isn't right, I didn't even get jet lag on the way over!" But don't lie to yourself — the time zones are WAY worse coming back to Australia.
But you know that it'll disappear after a few showers, so lap up the compliments while it lasts.
Even though it's been less than 48 hours since you last saw them, you miss them a lot...so you should probably arrange to see them again this weekend.
You've been living on a diet of antipasti, fresh seafood and salads — with some pizza, pasta and cocktail buckets thrown in for good measure. But now that you're back home, you just don't enjoy your meals as much.
You've been gone for at least a month and you feel like you've had a lifetime of adventures. But back at home, it feels like everything is exactly the same and it totally bums you out.
Maybe they've slightly rearranged the desks in the office, or your mum got a new haircut — however small the change, you pick up on it straight away.
Do you tell them about dancing on the tables in Mykonos, or seeing the purple-orange sunset in Croatia, or walking over ancient mosaics in Pompeii? You just can't decide.
After spending your days exploring a new city and going to sleep when the sun rises, you find it hard to transition back into your everyday routine. And hearing nothing but English being spoken unsettles you.
The post-holiday blues are real and they suck.
"You had to be there."
What happens in Rome stays in Rome. Literally.
It might only be 10:30am but it feels like 2pm. And, like, it's time for a pizza and an Aperol spritz, no?
"Guys, should we go to South America, or do Mykonos 2.0?"
Here's hoping that you can do it all again next year! 🙏
