Surprisingly! Nang-Nak (some may call Mae-Nak) is based on true story and has been remade as a movies several times. Check out the video to see the trailer of this movie. Personally, I would say the 1999 version is the most scariest one.

Nang -Nak was a lady who died during her childbirth and turned to a ghost. Her husband, Mak, was notified to serve the military for couple years. She loves her husband very much that she could not leave him. Her spirit and her child still lived in the house waiting for husband. She will carry her child and wait her husband to come back home at the waterfront everyday. When Mak came back, he did not know about her death but still lived with her and the child. Anyone who tried to tell the truth about her death will be tortured to death.
