Interview With Stephynie Malik Founder Of Chique Speak

    Story

Q.1 Hi Stephynie, thanks for sharing a little bit about yourself with our readers today! I’m glad to have connected with you. Tell me about your background and how you ended up in Chique Speak.

Sure, I started Chique Speak based on demand from my current global clients. In working with these clients for years, you develop close relationships that are truly priceless. I was getting asked by Executives from Accenture, EY, Disney, American Express, PG&E as well as several technology firms on just how I started my companies, and what made them so successful, and how they could emulate what I had done. I spent hours on the phone, or emails and even in person going through their ideas, providing clarity, expanding their thinking on marketplace, target audiences, demand etc. Over the last few years, so many of these executives, took my advice, and they left their 9-5 jobs and started wildly successful businesses. They turned into high-powered Entrepreneurs, and got the financial freedom they had hoped for.

Essentially, I have taken my 25 years +in global consulting and I have turned it from technology consulting into Human Consulting. There has been an overwhelming demand for our courses, and the greatest thing is I provide 1/1 intensives throughout the courses. As we provide these services, we realized that we were leaving out a large group of under served individuals. So, we developed 3 select programs for Executives, Doctors, Lawyers, and Managing Directors that needed a little more guidance in these ever changing competitive industries. What we have found is within this subset of these specific executives their largest pain points have been negotiating large salary packages more inline with their true worth, defining their ideal client/patient, or possibly packaging themselves for a promotion, or even realigning their skill sets to tackle another industry or position. We solve all of these nuances while developing a future success strategy roadmap for our clients.

Q.2 What are the top 3 problems you solve when your clients come to you and want to hang up their 9-5 jobs, leaving behind their “cushy steady paycheck”?

Ha! That’s funny; thus far, I wish there was only 3. In thinking about it the first thing I always try to start with is why? Why now? Why have you been miserable for so long, and now you are choosing to go all in? Usually that takes them to the idea, vision, service that they want to offer. From there I provide them clarity, confidence and a roadmap to become successful. I usually solve a few issues at the beginning around myths that they have heard, or clarity on their dream. I give them the confidence and guidelines to succeed. We then tackle why the world needs their idea, product or service, and then we cover the, “So what?” Lastly we guide them through using their resources carefully, making sure they remain coachable at all times, managing their time wisely (and how to do so) we assure they are set up for success, and they understand they need to remain flexible and firm at the same time.

Q.3 That definitely sounds unique. I’ve never heard of anything like that. As a Success Coach professional, how do you differentiate yourself from others in your field?

That’s easy; in every firm I have run to date, I demand World Class Service, PERIOD! We are 1000% service driven. We do not take any clients, ever that we cannot serve to our fullest potential. So, the two things that sets Chique Speak apart is our commitment to World Class Service, and we say “NO, (OFTEN!”) My reputation is the most important thing to me. If I cannot make a difference, if I do not believe you are ready, if you come to me and I believe I will work harder than you will, it is NOT HAPPENING! We got 24 applications in 4 days, I said no to 20. This is an elite program; we have an amazing success rate. I want that to last for a long time, while I serve my fellow executives. We are different. If I take your money, I will make you successful, if you do the work.

Q.4 Why do you think most Entrepreneurs fail?

I don’t believe this is a, “why does Stephynie think Entrepreneurs fail?” question. There is data, deep data on why Entrepreneurs fail. Lack of guidance, poor guidance, lazy guidance is number 1. Ability to truly flush out ones idea, service or product is number 2. Answering the very tough question truthfully, “Who really needs your idea, product or service badly? And even more so, who are your competitors in that market, would be number 3. I could go on for days on this subject, because out of those 3 reasons, there are about 30 sub reasons in there too. Really, you have to invest in you, and invest in your business. Guidance is needed to be successful. If you don’t believe me, you can ask my husband how much money I spent on business coaches, strategists and executive coaches when I was launching new businesses or even when I was part of a corporation. This was something I demanded as part of my salary package always.

Q.5 Those are good tips! What would you say to someone who had already started a business, and was in debt or just breaking even?

Well, I would sit down with them and find out where they were mentally. I would walk them through understanding their mental mindset. I would ask them if they had anymore mentally to give? I would do a deep dive into their current business and ascertain if we could help them. If we could, and they were coachable and I believed they could go on, we would coach them and assist them in getting to their clearly defined financial goals.
