Response to I Got An IUD And This Is What I Learned:
I got my Mirena IUD from a planned parenthood in summer of ‘10. I loved my IUD. I never had a period and only rarely felt cramping during the first month after insertion. The placement of the IUD was as described above, the pain is comprehensive and unforgettable. Removal was much easier and after having my Mirena for 4 years I got pregnant after one month. Having been through childbirth I can assure you that the pain of having the Mirena inserted was pretty comparable but much shorter in duration. After the birth of my son I elected for the Nexplanon for the much easier and less painful insertion in my arm. I have no regrets over these choices, I rejoice in the choices I had and am forever grateful that I can plan my beautiful family.
