Decor Pieces Every Home Should Have

You all have been following my journey into my new home for quite some time now. While it isn’t all done just yet, I’ve decided on which decor pieces I’d like have in place once everything is ready. From lighting to furniture and smaller accents, these are the decor pieces I feel every home should have. I can’t wait to add these final touches on my own! Decorative Pillows:- Pillows add an even more personal touch to a home. Whether you’re placing some on your couch or on your bed, decorative pillows can serve as the finishing touch to a room. I prefer soft textures and subtle patterns for my own pillows. Coffee Table:- Coffee tables might be one of my favorite parts of a home. Even the most sleek and simple options can command the attention of a room, especially when topped off with some cool books. Coffee Table Books:- Like I mentioned above, a coffee table isn’t complete without some great books. I love coffee table books because they’re usually full of art and more unique stories than your average read. I appreciate great photography, and make sure to have photo-centric books sitting on my coffee table. Statement Mirror:- You’ve already gotten a peek at the mirror I currently have set up at my place. I love large statement mirrors because they’re obviously a great size, but they have a decorative element to them. If you’re not a fan of standing mirrors, you can always opt for wall mirror with a more abstract design. Bar Cart:- I’ve always been a fan of how bar carts look in a home. They’re a great way to store bottles of wine and spirits if you don’t have much room elsewhere, but you can also place small plants and glasses on them to make them more fun. Throw Blankets:- Who doesn’t love a warm, cozy blanket? We all do! Some simple throw blankets can add a nice touch to a couch or the edge of a bed, and it doesn’t hurt that they’re ultra comfortable. I always have a few of these at home to keep in rotation. Rugs:- I know that a nice rug can be an investment, but it’s worth it if you keep up with the maintenance part of it. Rugs add such a nice touch to any room, and they make a home feel more warm and welcoming. Since there are so many different styles to choose from, you’re bound to find one that fits perfectly in your space. Floor Lamp:- Lighting is everything, and the right lighting can really set the tone of your home. When rooms are too dark or dull, I have a hard time concentrating and need as much light as possible. I love floor lamps because they’re usually very aesthetically pleasing while getting the job done, and literally lighting up the room. Vases:- Florals and greenery deserve to be in a nice space too. I love modern vases with a ceramic or metallic finish. Vases are available in so many different shapes and sizes, it’s almost impossible to choose! Hand Towels:- Having a constant rotation of hand towels is an easy way to refresh your bathroom decor. If you’re someone who has guests over frequently, this will make your life so much easier.
