MUSE - Dig Down
Muse is one of those bands that even on a crappy day of inspiration they can pull off an amazing song. This one is a bit different. From the opening droning keyboard to the soft strings, you are immediately captivated by where this song is headed to. And it heads to where you are definitely not expecting. It never quite lifts itself up to a power drive but definitely keeps its momentum adding layers until its crescendo past the halfway mark. Does this grab you like some of their previous smashes? No. But it is something that grows on you with a few plays. Not Muse at its finest but Muse at its pretty good. Sorry. I LOVE Muse but this one didn’t move me as most of their other material has.
