Looking Back On The Craziest Game Show To Ever Exist

    Most Extreme Elimination Challenge!

Most Extreme Elimination ChallengeMXC for short — was a show on Spike TV that was re-edited and (falsely) dubbed from a Japanese game show called Takeshi's Castle.

It was basically the precursor to Wipeout where contestants had to complete outrageous obstacle courses and challenges or risk elimination.

Which in itself is entertaining, but it was the ridiculous dubbing that made MXC hilarious.

The two hosts, fictional characters Kenny Blankenship and Vic Romano, served as commentators, giving play-by-play analysis sprinkled with background info about each contestant.

    Like this:

    Or this:

And their rapport was always wildly entertaining.

Each episode would pit two teams against each other, with the fake team name serving as inspiration for the made-up name of the contestants. For instance, Mega-Millionaires vs. Where Are They Nows:

And the contestants, who periodically dressed up in costume...

    Were improbably bad...

    And would fail almost immediately.

But not before giving a rebel yell of questionable confidence.

These battle cries were, again, completely fabricated and totally random...

    But always perfect.

Occasionally, Kenny and Vic would cut to field reporter Guy LeDouche, who would interview contestants, allowing for additional dubbing fun with different characters.

But the true joy of MXC was that the writers stuffed in jokes everywhere they could...

(Including the names of the games themselves, which were rather suggestive...)

And the REAL contestants were just as entertaining as the fake commentary.

In fact, the contestants went ALL OUT.

    And regularly suffered bad miscues.

But their misfortune was our entertainment and turned into a Top 10 list, which would replay the most painful eliminations of the day.

And for really bad/dumb wipeouts and spills, they'd slow it down for an "Impact Replay."

It was the craziest game show ever and made absolutely zero sense, but it was endlessly entertaining and perfect for late-night binge-watching.

Plus, the contestants seemed to have fun, and that's all that really matters.

Well, some more than others, perhaps.

    MXC!

Bonus: You can now watch MXC on Hulu.
