27 Things From Target That’ll Help You Successfully Complete Your Back To School Shopping This Year

It's my most favorite time of the year — back to school shopping. So, I made you a list. No need to check it twice, it's super nice.

    1. A *neat* Sterilite pencil box that'll keep supplies neatly organized and last your kiddo all year — I promise, ours is going on its second year. I especially like this pencil box because it is clear, and you can easily see what's inside.

    2. A pack of tried and tested Crayola crayons because they're always at the top of every teacher's list, and who doesn't love the smell of a fresh box of crayons? Did you know that Crayola has made more than 100 billion crayons?! That's enough to circle the earth almost five times!

    3. An alarm clock so you and your kiddos never miss the first, second, or last bell! This simple yet effective clock is a total vibe. Plus, it is battery operated, so just in case your phone dies or you lose power, you've got this as a backup. No more missing the bus!

    4. A pack of the world's best number two pencils, aka Ticonderoga. I can attest that these are the best pencils on the market. Fun fact: Henry David Thoreau and his father substituted clay for wax and created the world's first number two pencils in 1820.

    5. A pack of 24 felt tip markers that are my absolute fav and great for kids who are beginning to write. These seriously don't bleed, and I use them for everything from writing to drawing. These are hands down one of the most top quality pens out there in the pen market. As a writer, trust me when I say, these are the pens to go with!

    6. A pack of two glue sticks so your little ones can start creating tons of fun art to hang on the wall. I much prefer glue sticks to liquid glue, especially when it comes time to clean up. The best part? The price can't be beat!

    7. A spiral composition book for those that love the desert. Filled with 70 sheets of college ruled paper so you can take notes to your heart's content.

    8. A daily planner so you can stay on top of homework, playdates, sports, extracurricular activities...did I miss anything?! This planner will get you on track to having an organized and successful school year.

    9. Or a rustic planning white board if planners are not your thing but you are still looking to keep track of your schedule.

    10. A label maker so you can get organized for the upcoming school year from the very start. Label your kiddo's water bottle, pencil box, planner, and more to ensure nothing goes missing!

    11. A water bottle that I promise will keep your kid hydrated this year! We love this 12-oz stainless steel Thermos for school because it keeps liquids cold for up to 12 hours. Plus, the kid-friendly design makes it nearly indestructible, which is great for those of us with a wild child.

    12. A JanSport backpack because it wouldn't be back to school shopping without a brand new JanSport to hold all your supplies!

    13. A pack of five folders with two pockets to store all the papers that will be distributed throughout the year. Break out your label maker, and assign each color to a subject!

    14. A Trapper Keeper because these were all the rage when I was back in school! I was super pumped to find that Target still sells these, and if you are a '90s kid like me, I am sure you are stoked, too! These totally radical folders have everything to keep your kiddos organized this school year.

    15. A bottle of hand sanitizer to hang from a backpack or satchel. It's always a good idea to have hand sanitizer, especially when your kiddo spends six hours a day at school. This compact, easy-squirt bottle is perfect for on-the-go hand sanitizing needs!

    16. A Bentgo box boasting five practical compartments so you can pack appetizing and balanced lunches for school.

    17. And a Munchkin bento box reviewers say is the perfect size for toddlers and easy for little ones to open by themselves. This handy bento box comes with utensils and in two fun colors!

    18. A dinosaur lunch tote that'll hold the above bento boxes. It has a zipper front pouch, a mesh water bottle holder, and a handy clip strap so you can hang it from your stroller or backpack. It's *dinomite!*

    19. A super cute modern desk because it'll help instill healthy studying habits from an early age. Or you can use it as an art space for littler ones who are not studying just yet. The sleek and simple design also makes it easy on the eyes and practical for any room in the house.

    20. A sensory-friendly desk chair you can use with the above desk. Parents with fidgety kids are raving about the benefits of this chair. It is made so little bodies can move and squirm all they want without falling backwards. You can even use it at the dining table because we all know it's super hard to keep them seated for an entire meal.

    21. A simple desk lamp so your kiddos can have ample light for doing all their reading and homework. Plus, the minimalistic design will look great on any desk. In the words of Brick Tamland: I love lamp!

    22. An assorted pack of Post-its because if it's on a Post-it, you have to complete the task! There is nothing like a wall full of Post-its to get you pumped for the day ahead. Make Romy and Michele proud with this sticky notes pack!

    23. Time for School, Little Blue Truck, a book about going to school so you can help prepare your little one for their big debut. The story follows our favorite truck and toad as they embark on a fun-filled journey to school.

    24. A modular desk organizer system because everything on your desk deserves a perfect place. This lovely system is sleek and provides various compartments so you can store all your essentials.

    25. A daily checklist system so you can start each day off on the right foot. These lists are super helpful to keep your kiddos on track and promote responsibility. They also come with dry erase markers so they can be used over and over again without wasting paper. Hooray for helping the environment!

    26. A box of tissues because these boxes are too cute to pass up. I know, I know you are like, "Why is this girl getting all excited about tissues?" But if you had a class of 20 (or more) students running around for six hours a day, you would want an abundance of tissue boxes on hand!

    27. A set of inclusive color pencils and crayons so every kid can be represented in their artwork. More Than Peach™ is 10-year-old Bellen’s initiative to grow empathy and language around skin color in classrooms and beyond. Bellen's story is truly inspiring, and by purchasing this bundle, you are supporting her movement!
