1. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie

Captain Underpants is a novel series written by Dav Pilkey that explores the imagination of 2 fourth grade boys, George and Harold. The two best friends hypnotize their elementary school principal who gains superpowers and becomes Captain Underpants. The hilarious series is being brought to the big screen by Dreamworks Animation. Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie has nabbed some of Hollywood's biggest stars including Kevin Hart, Ed Helms and Thomas Middleditch. The film is set to debut June 2nd, 2017 in both 2D and 3D in theaters across the country.

2. Cars 3

The Cars series upgrades to a trilogy this summer with the release of the third installment. The Disney Pixar film chronicles the life of motor vehicles, namely superstar race car Lightening McQueen as he trains to regain superiority as #1 following defeats and an awful car wreck. The movie is voiced by celebrities including Owen Wilson, Cristela Alonzo, Larry The Cable Guy and more. Cars 3 will debut on June 16 across the country.

3. Despicable Me 3

Another animated series evolving into a trilogy, Despicable Me 3 will hit theaters June 30th. As the series continues to grow, we learn more about Gru as he continues to learn more about himself. The third installment revolves around main character Gru finding a twin brother Dru whom he never knew about. Despicable Me is packed with everyone's favorite minions, and main characters are voiced by big names such as Steve Carell and Miranda Cosgrove.

4. The Nut Job 2: Nutty by Nature

This 3D comedy is a sequel to The Nut Job, a movie released in 2014. The movie will follow the animals who reside in Liberty Park as they work together to stop the evil mayor of Oakton City from destroying their natural habitat. Voices of the film include Maya Rudolph who gives life to a pug named Precious. See The Nut Job 2: Nutty By Nature on August 11th.

5. Leap!

Leap, previously released in Europe is scheduled for a summer debut in America. Originally titled "Ballerina", the French film has been re-voiced by American stars including Elle Fanning and Carlie Rae Jepsen and even Dance Moms young talent Maddie Ziegler. Leap! follows an orphan as she chases her aspirations of being a renowned ballerina. The film comes crosses the ocean to American theaters August 30th, 2017.
