People On Twitter Are Losing It Over This Butter Debate

Honestly, the answer depends on where you live.

Butter is one of the most delicious, life-fulfilling substances in the world.

It's the magical ingredient at the heart of all our favorite foods — including croissants, pancakes, steaks, pasta, and cheeseburgers.

One of the biggest frustrations in the world is taking butter out of your fridge, only to be forced to wait for the rock-hard block to warm up to a spreadable temperature.

Which is why a lot of people leave their butter out on the damn counter — at least according to a recent Twitter conversation. 👀

In fact, a lot of people think this is the only way it should be stored:

Some people are firing back in disgusted response:

They are throwing down the gauntlet.

So, who's in the right? Well, according to food safety expert Carol Schlitt, butter at room temperature (around 70°F) will go bad in a few days, but keep it in an airtight container, and it should be good for up to two weeks.

So, either invest in a good butter keeper, or learn to make do with cold butter.
