Five Teens Who Look Better Than I Did (and Do!)

Kids today just don't understand! Back in my day (2008), fourteen year old girls LOOKED like fourteen year old girls. Almost every single teenage girl is either a model or aspiring to be one. Below is a list of ~flawless~ teens today, immediately followed by horrific pictures of me as an adolescent to illustrate the cold, hard reality of what I had to go through (and still do).

1. Zendaya

My beautiful Queen, Zendaya. The actress, singer, and style icon recently turned 20, so she just missed the whole "teen" thing, but still. Look at her.

2. Me

And then let's bring it back to reality and look at me. What is this? Why did this happen? I look like I could play Chunk in a re-make of "the Goonies."

3. Sabrina Carpenter

What an angel. She's only 17 and stunning. You can find her on "Girl Meets World" and singing with her fabulously talented voice.

4. ME?!

And, once again, here's me. At age 13. You probably could've found me at a Barnes and Noble reading "Twilight" for the 15th time.

5. Yara Shahidi

Yara can be found on the cover of Teen Vogue or on her hit show "Black-ish." She can also be found dazzling the world with THAT SMILE. Slay, girl SLAY.

this is getting to be too painful.

7. Rowan Balnchard

Not only is this girl making strides toward inclusivity, equality, and feminism, but she's also an incredibly talented actress. That being said, she's also incredibly beautiful. I mean look at that smolder. At 15, this young lady is just overall a better human than I am at 22.

8. Where am I?

I, too, am a model.

9. Bella Thorne

10. THIS SHOULD BE A HORROR FILM

I'm just looking for my precious, I swear I'm not a model. As you can see, the struggle was real. And today's teens will never understand why. All they have is this. My photo evidence of the hard times that were 2006-2012.
