The Weeknd Got On Twitter To Defend "The Idol" (Again), And I Know He Must Be Tired

"People who hate it decided a long time ago... it's fine. If you hate it don't watch it. And let the fans enjoy."

HBO's newest controversial show, The Idol, has accumulated some rough reviews, receiving a 25% on Rotten Tomatoes and a wide range of viral hate tweets on Twitter.

The Weeknd (aka Abel Tesfaye), who is The Idol's co-creator and also costars in it, has been fighting for his life on the internet lately because people just straight-up don't like the show and aren't afraid to say it.

The Idol has received criticism for being sexually explicit, with some reviewers saying that it "degrades its main female character," Jocelyn, played by Lily-Rose Depp.

Well, some fans think Abel may have turned into his character, Tedros, as he has taken to Twitter to respond to some mean tweets about The Idol:

One person said, "Fully convinced it's Tedros here and not Abel lmao"

So let's get into the tweets:

The official Oreo account responded to an inaccurate PopCrave tweet that said The Idol wouldn't return for a second season:

    "Finally some good news"

    Last week, The Weeknd responded:

His comment: "Oh fuck they been talkin shit"

    Oreo was clearly very excited:

The comment said "babe wake up, you've got beef with The Weekend [sic]"

One user literally asked the internet why they should hate the show, and The Weeknd was fed up:

Comment: "who has the thread or article on why the idol is bad pls i need it" and he responds, "someone hurry please tell me why I hate something everyone is telling me to hate — hurry before I come up with my own opinion"

One user said they wouldn't watch the show because it would "ruin his music" for them:

Comment: "I can't watch that show with The Weeknd in it lol it's gonna ruin his music for me" and he responds, "Good don't listen"

Another user threatened to block The Weeknd:

Comment: "I'm about to block you I can't stand you talking about this mid ass show anymore" and he responds, "Hurry up than [sic] you taking too long"

One user accused The Weeknd of trying to create viral memes to make the show seem better:

Comment: "Trying the meme the show to be good now YIKES" and he responds, "Nope people who hate it decided a long time ago; it's fine — if you hate it don't watch it, and let the fans enjoy — simple"

One user insulted The Weeknd's acting skills and instantly regretted it:

Comment: "crying bout yo acting tho" and he responds, "Bruh if you don't shave that shit stain off your chin LOL"

One fan commented on The Weeknd's misspellings in his Twitter roast session:

Comment: "Abel I fear if ur gonna come for people you have to spell things correctly" and he responds, "Fuck no lol don't got time for all that — these bots understand me crystal clear"

And finally, The Weeknd vs. Oreo Cookie Part 2 is so random but hilarious:

Oreo: "Where's the lie" and Abel responds, "Don't make me dunk you in some milk" with laugh-cry emoji

The latest episode of The Idol premiered Sunday, and next week will be the season finale. What do you think about the show, and do you agree with some of these tweets?
