    I Was Sad, So Here Are 10 Good Thoughts I Have

    We all need a little smile sometimes. Here are some things that made me smile!

    1. My dog loves me.

    And I'm the center of her world.

    2. My friend remembered that I had a super important job interview today.

    She came over and did my hair for me. She's amazing!

    3. I got a new notebook.

    That doesn't sound spectacular, but it's the decomposition kind with a pretty cover and thick, recycled paper. Every time I write in it, I can't stop smiling.

    4. I found out my friend was on the other side of the political spectrum, and didn't judge her or try to change her mind.

    I asked her why she believed that, and promised that I wasn't going to argue, just wanted to know. It feels really good to understand part of where she's coming from and know that I have friends that I respect.

    5. I did the splits for the first time!

    I've wanted to do the splits for a long time, and I've been stretching and stretching, and yesterday, I did them!

    6. I had a conversation with a friend over facetime, and I spent the whole time laughing and smiling.

    It's been a while since a simple conversation just brought me pure joy.

    7. I got one of the most amazing compliments ever!

    Somebody called me eloquent. It made my year.

    8. I *thought* I sang on-key to one of my favorite pop songs.

    I don't know if it actually was on-key, but I thought it was and it felt good to just have a little party.

    9. I took one of those 10-minute power naps.

    You know, the ones where you fall asleep and ten minutes later, you're up and ready to work?

    10. The grass in the park down the street is super green and pretty because of all the snowmelt.

    That's one of my favorite things, when the grass just looks so perfectly green.
