5. Alaric and Meredith

Don't get me wrong, I <3 Alaric and Jo but hear me out. Alaric and Meredith had one of the shortest relationships on the show but they clearly liked each other a lot, and if given more time, their relationship could've grown into something amazing. Unlike Alaric and Caroline, Jo or Jenna, his and Meredith's was also the most interesting since it started off on the wrong foot.

4. Caroline x Klaus

Out of all the relationships Caroline has had, this was definitely the best because she was finally the first choice. The reason why Klaroline isn't as high on my list is because their relationship barely had any time to develop. The whole relationship was Caroline rejecting Klaus (and don't even get me started on Tyler) and then Klaus leaving for New Orleans. Caroline's cameo on The Originals was welcomed but did not give me any closure.

3. Anna x Jeremy

I know this ship is extremely controversial considering how Jeremey cheated on Bonnie with Anna. But I don't think Jeremy should've ever been with Bonnie. His relationship with Anna made a lot more sense and the length Jeremy was willing to go to save her really shows his love for her.

From the way they were introduced to the way they died, their relationship was truly a journey. They had different personalities and alignments and as shown in the show, this caused many disputes, but in the end, they would still do anything to save each other. Their deaths were heartbreaking and left me wanting more.

This might be extremely controversial, but Benzo was truly the best canon ship in TVD. Unlike other relationships in TVD, theirs was more on the healthy side and not forced. This allowed the writers to grow their relationship and for viewers like me to appreciate their connection.
