Tell Us What It's Really Like For You To Be A Working Mom

It's not easy...

In a perfect world, childcare responsibilities would be split evenly between parents and all genders would get treated equally in the workplace. But in the world we live in, working moms can often end up taking on more than their partners at home while also handling a lot of responsibilities at work.

So if you're a working mom, we want to know what you wish more people understood about balancing raising kids with bringing home paychecks.

Maybe you've encountered judgmental people who thought it was "selfish" of you to keep working instead of staying home with the kids full time. In reality, you'd love to spend more time with your family, but you legitimately need to make money to pay the rent and put food on the table. There's nothing "selfish" about it.

Or perhaps you wish that more people understood how little downtime you really get to yourself. Some days, the closest thing you get to "me-time" is the drive to and from work. You wouldn't give up any part of your life, but a little more help and rest would be amazing.

Or maybe you wish your boss understood that needing more flexible hours to pick up your kids from school or attend their events doesn't make you any less dedicated to your job. You still get all your work done, and as long as nothing is time sensitive, it really shouldn't matter when you do it.

Tell us in the comments below or via this anonymous form about your experiences as a working mom, and you could be featured in an upcoming BuzzFeed Community Post.
