If you could change one thing in Middlesex university what would it be?

The President represents Student Members to the University and external audiences at all levels. They uphold the democratic principles and obligations of Middlesex University Students’ Union and ensure that these are implemented across the activities of the Organisation; provide leadership for MDXSU in policymaking, campaigning, and representation; and are a public-facing spokesperson for MDXSU and all its activities. They play a key role in the relationship between students, the Trustee Board, and the University Board of Governors.

MDXSU PRESIDENT

The Equity & Inclusions Officer represents Student Members to the University and external audiences. They lead in policy-making, campaigning and lobbying work in conjunction with other Officers, to advance equity of opportunity and fairness of outcomes for students at Middlesex University. They will work with and provide support to Liberation Student Groups and Communities to ensure the SU and Middlesex University are equitable to these groups. They are a Sabbatical Trustee and play a key role in the relationship between students and the Trustee Board.

EQUITY & INCLUSION OFFICER

The Community & Citizenship Officer represents Student Members to the University and external audiences. In their role, they will actively encourage students to make a wider contribution to their University community and to encourage opportunities for students in this area. They facilitate collaborative activity undertaken by the student body and empower students as leaders to influence their experience at the University. They promote a holistic approach to student life beyond educational and representational functions; and work to facilitate this aspect of student life across Middlesex. They lead in policy making and campaigning work, in conjunction with other Officers, by using appropriate methods to address the needs of our student community. They are a Sabbatical Trustee and play a key role in relationship between students and the Trustee Board.

COMMUNITY & CITIZENSHIP OFFICER

The Academic Experience Officer represents Student Members to the University and external audiences. They lead in policy-making, campaigning and lobbying work in conjunction with other Officers, on accessibility and academic issues students face at Middlesex University. They will be responsible for supporting Student Voice Leaders, helping them to identify key issues in faculties, and working on improving the experiences students will have on their course. They are a Sabbatical Trustees and play a key role in the relationship between students and the Trustee Board.

ACADEMIC EXPERIENCE OFFICER

The Social Justice Officer represents Student Members to the University and external audiences. They lead in policy-making, campaigning and lobbying work in conjunction with other Officers, on student social justice issues at Middlesex University. They will work with key external stakeholders (e.g. Barnet Citizens) to drive action on social injustices that affect Middlesex students. They are Sabbatical Trustees and play a key role in the relationship between students and the Trustee Board.
